THBPBPTHPT!

It’s an age-old question: just how to you spell… that? And why can’t people agree on a standard spelling for what should be a celebrated piece of onomatopoeia? Steve over at the Sneeze recognizes the importance of cultivating the history of the raz, and last week asked if I could help him find some examples of Charles Schulz drawing any of his characters giving the Bronx Cheer. The result of his diligent research is the Cartoon Raspberry Museum. Help him out if you have any other examples of a good old fashioned mouth-fart.

    Whenever I need a nice razzberry in something I’m working on (storyboards, etc.), I vary the spelling, but almost always comes out like: “Pphhhhpppt!” or, “Ppphhhbbbt!” Replacing the “p’s” with “b’s.”

    Ahh, pphhppt!!!
