What a lovely resource. The Book Cover Archive is a growing collection (currently just over 1,000) of beautifully-designed book covers. What’s particularly great is that all the books are indexed–and searchable–by author, designer, illustrator, publication date, art director, photographer, and even by typeface.

    I love the book covers that you can find now in bookstores. But I also hate them, because frequently I buy really lousy books, just because they have beautiful covers. A good trick to sell those bad writers.
