When I was an undergraduate, I worked at the Rare Book Room in Willis Library at the University of North Texas. Making custom displays for the pop-up books from matting board and cellophane was one of the coolest jobs I’ve ever had.
It was also fun to make custom book boxes for some of our very valuable books. Somehow it didn’t bother me that many of the books were worth far more than they were paying me in an entire year.
The Rare Book Room also has a rather large collection of miniature books.

even in my early 20′s the pop-up book still thrills me… is that healthy?
