The Western Nostril, South African webcomic

The Western Nostril is a comic strip from South Africa by Patrick and Alex Latimer. Though sometimes hit-and-miss (the site itself claims “maybe you’ll find a diamond, maybe you’ll find a booger”) it’s smartly drawn and written, and I did my share of LOL-ing. Consider me a fan.

Unfortunately, I’m not LOL-ing much so far, but that’s not a knock against the comic. I only like two webcomics, We The Robots and XKCD, so I’m really not the audience for these things. I’d like to see a wider range of expressions – too many of the webcomics people show me have the characters perpetually in a few limited poses and affects.

The drawings are great, though: clean, sparse, economical. It looks like the comic just started, so I figure it’ll find its voice with time.
