Tintin on Stage

tintin_stage

First animation, then radio, now theatre – can a live action film be far behind?

Mark Lawson writes about the new Tintin stage production for The Guardian. Die-hard Tintin fans who were angry about the animated version might not like Rufus Norris’ rendition of Tintin in Tibet.

For those of you in Ol’ Blighty: Tintin is at the Barbican, London EC2, until January 10. Box office: 0845 120 7511.

I just have to say, the guy in the picture has a “There’s Something About Mary” hair-do going on.

There were a few live action tintin’s made in france in the 60′s. My friend, whose mom is a french teacher, has a picture book version of one of the films. It seems weird to have a picture book based on a movie based on a comic.

I saw the French films and they were really naft I must say, but it was made on a low budget in the 60′s so what would you expect. The cast was dreadful.
Steven Spielberg has been rumored for years now to want to produce/direct a feature film version of Tintin. So who knows?

How can you get the books based on the French films? How about the films themselves? I am a HUGE TinTin fan and am always on the lookout for any books I may have missed. Also has anyone else ever heard of TinTin and the Blue Oranges? Any idea on where to get them?
