Tom McNeely is a traditional illustrator, not the sort we usually feature on Drawn. But since he is one of Canada’s most published artists, and he is having his first biographical book being launched this Sunday, I can hardly not blog about it.
His online biography says he began working professionally in 1953. He’s won many of the biggest awards an illustrator can win, and he has taught a generation of younger illustrators at the Ontario College of Art and Design. But like many artists of his age and reputation, he doesn’t really need a website – and so his is a tad underdeveloped, even on the eve of a book launch. But go look anyway.
The book launch is from 2 to 4 pm, Sunday, January 20th, 2008, at the venerable Toronto Arts & Letters Club, 14 Elm St, Toronto.
