TypeCon and a poster by Joseph Irving Dube

Typecon is a conference for typography fiends, and it starts Tuesday, July 15, and goes until Sunday, in Buffalo, New York. The student registration rate is under $200, and if you just want to see Stefan Sagmeister speak – the Sid Vicious of typography himself – IT’S FREE! But you still need to nab a first-come first-serve ticket.

This poster appears in Joseph Irving Dube‘s portfolio – he recently graduated from RIT’s illustration program. Check out his expressionistic illo as well as his design work – has a bit of that Eastern European cold war era feel to it.

Having grown up in Buffalo, I am really, really stoked for this. I hope to align my holiday back home (I’m in the UK now) with this. I’m surprised P22 Type Foundry isn’t on the list yet, as they are originally from Buffalo as well!
