I am an illustrator, graphic designer and gallery artist originally from Victoria and then Vancouver, BC, who now lives near Picton, Ontario. Besides my freelance business I have worked fulltime for the University of British Columbia as Multimedia Developer in the Faculty of Land and Food Sciences, and as Senior Designer for the webcomic userfriendly.org. In recent years I have been helping develop a Flash game for condition30.com. Besides my professional life, I also conduct academic research in illustration. I am working on a Ph.D on the history and impact of Canadian illustrators, at SUNY Stony Brook (which is why I have done so little artwork lately). I welcome input from anyone who knows something about Canadian illustrators or is one. My favourite illustrators are mostly of the Victorian and Edwardian periods, including Aubrey Beardsley, Sidney Sime, Charles Robinson, Ivan Bilibin, and Edmund Dulac. I also like AG Rizzoli, Persian miniatures, and ukiyo-e.
