I was sad to read about the death of Carl Reiner the other week. As a kid I would tape comedy records from the library onto cassettes, and listen to them on repeat. The one that got the most play was almost certainly Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner's The 2000 Year Old Man, animated here in a 1975 tv special.

And as much as we're talking about animation here, such is the power of the original material that I have to admit that not only does it not benefit from animation, it might actually have been better without it.
