Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I had wondered what animated short I would post first if I were to ever relaunch Drawn as a place to see a new animated short every day. But now, as much of the world is housebound, there can be only one obvious candidate, and it's this hilarious short about a couple that chooses to spend the day indoors playing Scrabble while the rest of the world... let's say, "carries on without them".

Richard Condie's The Big Snit is a Canadian classic, and a personal childhood favourite. As conflicts both big and small play out alongside each other, there exists no greater reminder to put aside petty differences when there are bigger problems out there.

I hope, if you're currently trapped in close quarters with a loved one, that your time together is a more harmonious one than this. And stop sawing the furniture!
