An artist wants to have a nice life making simple pottery, but is pressured by a giant hand to make a sculpture of itself instead. The short was Czech animator Jiří Trinka's last and arguably his masterpiece: a protest against totalitarianism and the anti-democratic limitations imposed on artists by the Soviet-controlled government following the 1948 Czechoslovak coup d'état.
