Radiolab is my favourite thing on the airwaves. Or podwaves, or whatever you want to call them. And now the science and philosophy podcast for the layman has been treated to a tribute by some of my favourite designers and illustrators. In Radiolab We Trust is a set of affordable Gocco screenprints being sold to benefit Radiolab and its parent station, WNYC New York Public Radio.
The prints are the work of Jez Burrows, Frank Chimero, Nicholas Felton, Meg Hunt, and Impactist. And dig that perfect logo.
Here’s Frank Chimero’s print, taken from Jez Burrows’s Flickr set of the prints:

James Joyce is a designer and illustrator based in London. He is a distiller. A simplifier. His work reminds me of that of fellow Brit, Olly Moss, as well as Drawn! pal Frank Chimero. Also, his work is much more concise than that of the other James Joyce.

I just snagged the second volume of Advice to Sink in Slowly, the collection of postcards featuring creative advice. These things are just great, and who can argue with a cover by Frank Chimero?
Check out all of the postcards on Flickr.

Our friend Frank Chimero never rests it would seem. Together with Ben Barry, these two designer-illustrators have turned the notion of a FAQ into a stand-alone website called Questionable Characters where they will tackle the numerous questions they receive from students, and other creative types.
You’ve got questions? They’ve got answers puppies.

In addition to his 50 States project, designer/illustrator Frank Chimero has been hard at work producing another labor of love: The Small Print book. Frank describes the project on his website:
The Small Print is an on-going exploration in creating lots of tiny things. Each design is meant to be reproduced small (no larger than 6×6″) and are meant to only focus around communicating one idea.
Thanks to Lulu, Frank was able to publish this himself and is currently selling copies for only $25… and I must admit that the book looks beautiful. See more images from the book on Frank’s blog, By So and So.

An idea so clever, I wish I had thought of it first. Designer/illustrator Frank Chimero has an ongoing series of illustrations reinterpreting the shapes of American states as other objects. The results are witty, elegant, and beautifully rendered.
