Aaron Zenz has been posting his kids’ art on their own blog for the last three years. To celebrate the 3-year anniversary of Chicken Nugget Lemon Tooty, Aaron posted an open invitation for visitors to pick their favourite entry and create their own version of it.
The results are super fun, and the invitation to contribute is open through the rest of the month. Shown here is Adam Rex’s take on one of the drawings.
Dean Fraser’s been reimagining some of his favourite superheroes, 80s cartoon characters, and pop culture icons as pitch-perfect Simpsons characters: Springfield Punx. This month it’s all Marvel heroes, but some of my favourites are the real-life actors like The Office’s Dwight seen here, or Arrested Development’s Tobias.
“Charlie Brown no more!” Good grief, this collection of Marvel-themed Peanuts parodies (or is it Peanuts-themed Marvel parodies?) delights me to no end!
Camel Soup finds artist Ben Swift creating a mash-up of Andy Warhol’s famous Campbell’s Soup can paintings with the Camel cigarette packaging — the end result is a brilliant cultural remix. Ben’s selling limited edition sets of prints of Camel Soup on the site: perfect for the chain-smoking, art-loving, pop culture junkie on your shopping list.
Illustrator Dylan Meconis has a treat for all you Battlestar Galactica fans. On her blog, she has posted drawings of the entire Battlestar cast, drawn as if they were on The Simpsons!
