Vancouver 2010 mascots unveiled

2010.jpg

Leave it to Canada to have a cryptozoological beatie like a sasquatch as its Olympic mascot. Earlier today Vancouver 2010 unveiled their Olympic and Paralympic mascots: Quatchi the Sasquatch, Miga the Sea Bear, and Sumi the Thunderbird.

The mythical (and adorable) creatures are the work of Vancouver-based Vicki Wong and Michael Murphy of Meomi Design, who should be no strangers to the readers of Drawn!. These could be the most stylish Olympic mascots yet, and I’m sure will be a big hit with kids.

I just read the latest Octonauts book from Meomi, The Octonauts & The Sea of Shade, and it’s just as adorable and adventurous as the crew’s previous outing with the The Only Lonely Monster.

The Octonauts & The Only Lonely Monster

My mouth is watering just seeing samples of this book! The Octonauts and The Only Lonely Monster is a children’s book by Vicki Wong and Michael Murphy’s Meomi (previously) boasting some absolutely delicious artwork. The Octonauts are a crew of animals who roam the ocean in search of adventure and fun. Be sure to visit the book’s website to check out those stunning sample pages! Wheee!
