I’m currently enjoying the work of Mark Verhaagen. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen vector illustrations appear so lush and atmospheric.

The Desktop Wallpaper Project

Here’s something infinitely cool: Bobby S’s Desktop Wallpaper Project. Every Wednesday he’ll release a new piece of desktop wallpaper created by various artists. The wallpaper will be available in different monitor sizes (as well as PSP and iPhone versions). The project kicks off with three wallpapers so far — artwork from Tim Biskup, Mcbess, and IMAKETHINGS.

Start Soma, the San Francisco gallery for emerging artists, today announced the launch of Start Mobile — a retail art gallery for your cell phone. It’s pretty freakin’ cool — there are 100s of awesome artists including past Drawn! subjects like Kirsten Ulve, Tim Biskup, Steve Mack…. oh, and did I mention…. Drawn!’s own superstar Ward Jenkins is also one of the featured artists?

So what are you waiting for? You know your phone is feeling naked without some hip wallpaper…
